Spartak head coach Guillermo Abascal admitted that he feels support from the club’s management.
On Sunday, the “red-whites” played a draw at home with CSKA in the match of the 11th round of the WORLD RPL (2:2). Before this meeting, Spartak lost to Krylia Sovetov in the 10th round match (0:4) and to Dynamo Moscow in the group stage of the Russian Cup (0:3).
– You are under pressure, the fans are waiting for victories. Do you feel supported by management?
– Certainly. I feel supported. Our team is renewed, like CSKA, Dynamo and some other championship participants. The work of a coach is assessed not only by the result, but also by the process. And he goes, the newcomers are adapted and playing. Now is not the time to evaluate the outcome; everything will be clear at the end of the season.
— “Spartak” was lucky today? After all, CSKA was closer to victory.
– If I only believed in luck, I would play the lottery. I believe in work. If CSKA had 15-20 shots and one-on-ones, that would be a different matter. And so the match was closed, it seems to me. Not many chances, goalkeeper saves, classic derby. And we have things to improve, of course.
