Former Vice President of the Judiciary Committee José María Enriquez Negreira fell on his way to the building of the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Catalonia, where he was due to undergo an examination to determine whether he suffered from age-related dementia.
Previously, representatives of the former official said that he could not take part in the consideration of the criminal case in which he is accused of receiving bribes from Barcelona for many years, due to his dementia. In response to this statement, the head of the Barcelona Investigative Court, Joaquin Aguirre, ruled that Negreira will have to undergo further medical tests.
Heading to this procedure with his wife and lawyer, the former vice-chairman of the Judiciary Committee tripped and fell.
