“The first goal of Spartak was not Akinfeev’s fault, Promes’ performance was at the highest level” – Chanov about the derby

Former CSKA goalkeeping coach Vyacheslav Chanov believes that Spartak’s first goal in the Moscow derby was not the mistake of army goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev.

Sunday’s match of the 11th round of the MIR RPL at the Spartak stadium ended with a score of 2:2. Quincy Promes and Jesus Medina scored goals for the red-whites, equalizing the score in second-half stoppage time. Defender Milan Gajic scored a double for CSKA.

— Was CSKA’s first missed goal the fault of Akinfeev or Promes’s missed shot?

— It’s not Igor’s fault. If we compare the first goals missed by Maksimenko and Akinfeev, then in both cases the execution was at the highest level, there were no goalkeeper errors. In both cases, the ball followed a trajectory, falling from top to bottom.

— In the case of Akinfeev’s first missed goal, can you make claims against the defensive players?

– This is the Achilles heel. If we look at all the goals conceded recently, most of them come from the central zone, where the defensive player does not move closer to reduce the distance between the ball and himself, but stops and acts as a counter.

— Milan Gayich’s second goal into the near corner of Alexander Maksimenko’s goal—is it the goalkeeper’s ball or not?

“If the goal had gone in cleanly, it would have been the goalkeeper’s, but there was a rebound. The distance between the line of the penalty area was still small, so Maksimenko began to move towards the ball, but the rebound failed, Metaratings.ru quotes Chanov.

Aston Villa footballer Watkins calls Emery a tactical genius

The scorer of the brace against Chelsea is an Aston Villa player. Ollie Watkins appointed head coach of the team Unai Emery tactical genius. Watkins’ comment is quoted by the BBC in reference to Sky Sports.

The meeting of the 18th round of the English championship between Aston Villa and Chelsea from London ended with a strong victory for the Birmingham team with a score of 2:1.

“He changed tactics because Chelsea played man-marking, but he had an extra central defender when we played long balls. When I came on in the second half, he put Jadon Sancho and Morgan Rodgers on the wing and put Youri Tielemans in the No. 10 position, so we had an extra player. He’s a tactical genius,” Watkins said.

“Amazing victory. For me personally, to go on the pitch and score two goals is a fantastic feeling, but to continue that streak and come here to such a difficult place and beat Chelsea is just incredible,” he added.

Aston Villa, under the leadership of former Spartak Moscow coach Emery, won 11 in a row. The team won 8 matches in the English championship and 3 in the Europa League.

In the English championship standings Aston Villa is in 3rd place with 39 points. In the next round, the Birmingham team will play away against Arsenal, leaders of the Premier League (42 points).
