The composition of the Russian national football team in a friendly match with Kenya will be very different from the composition for the game with Cameroon, said the head coach of the national team Valery Karpin.
On Thursday, the Russian team defeated the Cameroon team in a friendly match. The meeting took place in Moscow at the Dynamo stadium named after Lev Yashin and ended with a score of 1:0.
— I liked the match. There were a lot of chances both for us and at our goal. It was an intense game. In the end, maybe there was a little more struggle, but the whole match was good. (Captain Dmitry) Barinov said that this is one of the best matches of the national team? Yes, I agree. Here the lineup was already more optimal, although (Alexander) Golovin was not there to add. (Defender Sergei) Volkov served the right side very well, (forward Sergei) Pinyaev played well. Today, both experienced and young players played quite well.
— Will the composition in Turkey change significantly?
– Strongly. The Miranchuk brothers, for example, are planned from the first minutes.
— Is there a chance to play with Pomazun?
– There are always chances. Whether they will be provided or not is another question.
— Did you enjoy the match today?
— There were more nerves than buzz. Much worked, much did not.
— Did the removal of Cameroon take place?
“The match took place and we won, thank God.”
— Why was Dzhikia absent?
– Because someone else played. That’s what I decided. I wanted it that way.
– What’s wrong with Utkin? Will he fly to Turkey?
— It was planned to join the team, but upon arrival in Novogorsk the temperature rose. I sent him to Rostov out of harm’s way so that he wouldn’t infect anyone.
— The youth team plays in Brazil. Do you have such a desire?
“There is a desire, but the opportunity is not for me.” We can only dream about this.
— What is your vision of today’s game?
— The desire is obvious, but there were a lot of losses for players of the national team level. And after handling the ball, and after ridiculous bounces. The team is positioned for attack, and suddenly an inexplicable marriage attacks Cameroon. This was alarming,” a Match TV correspondent reports Karpin’s words.
On October 16, Valery Karpin’s team will play against the Kenyan team in Antalya, Turkey. The game will be shown live on the Match TV channel.
