“I took it as a joke at first.” Nepomniachtchi – about a symbolic blow before the match between the national teams of Russia and Cameroon in Moscow

Russian coach Valery Nepomnyashchy said that at first he took as a joke the proposal to deliver a symbolic blow before the friendly match between the national teams of Russia and Cameroon (1:0) in Moscow.

The specialist led the Cameroonian team from 1988 to 1990, he led the team to the quarterfinals of the 1990 World Cup.

— It’s a little difficult to express the full range of emotions I experienced, but I can definitely say that I felt great happiness from this moment. “I must admit, when the day before the match journalists started calling me and saying that I would deliver the first symbolic blow, I took it as a joke,” he said.

Nepomniachtchi noted that he liked the game of the national team with the Cameroonians.

“That’s about what I expected, although I was hoping for more goals.” I think that in the first half the Cameroonians had opportunities to score, but in the second half, it’s safe to say, we managed to completely outplay them,” Nepomnyashchiy told RT.

The Ministry of Sports proposes to tighten the limit for foreign players by 2028 according to the “10 foreign players in the application, 5 on the field” scheme.

“The Ministry gave the football community, experts and specialists the opportunity to talk openly about this issue. As far as I understand, the discussion process continues,” Dyukov said.
