“If I skipped something at the RFU coaching academy, then Abaskal didn’t go to school at all” – Mostovoy

Former Russian national team player Alexander Mostovoy commented on his training at the coaching academy of the Russian Football Union (RFU).

Mostovoy began training to become a trainer at the end of August.

— My training is taking place as usual, the next meeting is in November. Did I play truant? No, neither I nor anyone else skipped class. How can I play truant if the eldest of them all has already played truant, ha-ha!

Moreover, if I missed something, then [главный тренер «Спартака» Гильермо] Abaskal did not go to school at all and did not attend coaching courses. Everyone knows perfectly well that he did not play football. Where is football, and where are Spanish lessons, ha-ha! If Abaskal leaves Spartak, it is unlikely that they will take me on for an internship, and he will not go to complete his training as a coach at our RFU school. Sooner or later he will finish his job at the Moscow club, receive a tidy sum of money and go to his place in Spain – he will continue to relax and enjoy life. Because it’s unlikely that Abaskal will work anywhere after Spartak,” Sport24 quotes Mostovoy.

55-year-old Alexander Mostovoy played 51 matches for the Russian national team. He ended his playing career in 2005.

Live broadcasts of MIR RPL matches can be watched on the Match TV and MATCH PREMIER TV channels, as well as on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.

Bulykin named the position that Spartak needs to strengthen

Former Russian national football player Dmitry Bulykin expressed his opinion on how Spartak could strengthen during the winter window.

What kind of player does Spartak need in the winter transfer window? First of all, another goalscoring striker. They are already in a good position and can fight for the championship, but due to the atmosphere in the team there were disagreements.

Now we need a good coach who unites them with a single goal and task. If I were in Spartak, I would find another goalscoring striker in the winter and fight for the championship.

Amorim explains Casemiro’s surprise substitution against Newcastle

Mentor Manchester United Reuben Amorim he said he replaced the midfielder Casemiro during the 1–0 win over Newcastle United because he felt the Brazilian would “struggle” with the intensity of the second half.

Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte formed United’s midfield duo in the absence of Bruno Fernandes, who missed the match with a hamstring injury, but Amorim replaced the Brazilian with Leni Yoro in the 61st minute.

After seeing his number on the substitution board, Casemiro pointed to himself and was disappointed with Amorim’s decision to replace him so early in the match.

Asked to explain Casemiro’s substitution, Amorim replied: “At that moment I didn’t want to shoot [Матеуса] Cunho because he is the only one who allows us to be creative and I put him in position number 10. Jack [Флетчер] it was fresh and could continue, Manu [Угарте] he was cooler than Casemiro. In the end we decided to replace him because they were making a lot of quick passes and I felt that at that point he would have difficulty.”
