Argentine footballer of the Samara “Wings of the Soviets” Benjamin Garre said that he is not against receiving a Russian passport.
In September, Krylia sports director Sergei Kornilenko said in an interview with Match TV that he was discussing the issue of obtaining Russian citizenship with Garre and Brazilian Fernando Costanza.
— Before moving to Russia, did you consult with your family?
– Certainly. We discussed everything with my parents and wife. My wife helps me a lot, she is always there, we have a daughter. Family is most important to me. I am calm, free and play well, because we are all happy in Samara.
— What about the Russian passport? Are you going to receive it?
— About a month and a half ago, Kornilenko asked me what the situation was. I said that there were no obstacles on my part. If the family, father, my representative agree, then there are no problems,” Rossiyskaya Gazeta quotes Garre.
Garre moved to Krylya Sovetov in January, where he played 30 matches for the team, scored seven goals and provided four assists.
