Two people died in Brussels in a shooting on Monday evening, reports RTBF citing a police statement.
This evening in Brussels there is a European Championship qualifying match between the national teams of Belgium and Sweden.
According to preliminary information, the shooting occurred in the city center at around 19:15 local time. Photos on social networks show a man in an orange jacket and white helmet with a gun in his hand on a scooter leaving the crime scene. The Brussels prosecutor’s office confirmed that those involved in the incident are still at large.
According to Sky Sports journalist Rob Harris, the dead were wearing Scandinavian national team jerseys.
In the match of the 8th round of Group F between the national teams of Belgium and Sweden as part of the qualifying tournament for the European Championship 2024, after the first half the score is equal – 1:1.
