Footballers without playing experience in clubs should not be invited to the Russian national team, says Shcherbachenko
Coach Fedor Shcherbachenko expressed the opinion that the Russian national team headquarters does not need to invite players to friendly matches who do not have stable playing experience in clubs.
Last Thursday, the Russians in Moscow achieved a minimal victory over Cameroon (1:0), and on Monday in Turkey they drew with Kenya (2:2).
— The national team should not involve footballers who do not have playing experience in clubs for “reanimation” or rehabilitation. If you wanted to support those guys who previously categorically played in the main team of the national team, but who today do not play in their clubs, they could at most be released as substitutes for a short amount of time. Karpin actually admitted in an interview that during the game he predictably became convinced who the numbers were, who was in shape and who was out of shape.
And so the Russian national team plays few matches, and in this way its image worsens for fans who are really looking forward to these games. International matches now, as they say, are like a breath of fresh air. I think the squad for the match with Kenya was chosen unreasonably and incorrectly from all points of view. It was not that it was a pity, but it was unpleasant to look at such mistakes in interactions. Because of this, the public reaction to the team’s game remained extremely negative, which, in principle, should not have happened after a good match with Cameroon,” Euro-Futbol.Ru quotes Shcherbachenko as saying.
