Augsburg defeated Heidenheim in the away match of the eighth round of the German football championship.
The meeting ended with a score of 5:2 in favor of Augsburg. The winners included Phillip Tietz, Mads Pedersen, Ermedin Demirovich, Felix Uduohai and Elvis Rejbechai. Tim Kleindienst and Jan-Niklas Beste scored goals for Heidenheim.
In another match, Cologne defeated Borussia Monchengladbach at home – 3:1. The visitors were able to respond to Florian Kainz’s double from the penalty spot and Gian-Luca Waldschmidt’s goal only with a precise strike from Nico Elvedi.
Augsburg (8 points) is in 10th place in the standings, ahead of Heidenheim (7). Borussia (6) is in 13th place, Cologne (4) is in 16th.
