Former Zenit player Alexey Igonin believes that attracting foreign referees to work in MIR RPL can benefit the league.
On Tuesday, on the “Rules of the Game” program on the MATCH PRIME channel, the chairman of the refereeing committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Pavel Kamantsev, announced the signing of an agreement on cooperation in the field of refereeing with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. He also said that the RFU would soon conclude similar agreements with Belarus and Qatar.
— Inviting referees from other countries to the RPL is a completely normal initiative, because you need to get out of the football vacuum by all means. This could be beneficial. There is a lot to do and work to do. The more intersections and exchange of experience, the better, because each federation has its own strengths,” Igonin is quoted as saying by “Championship.”
