The Spanish functionary died at the age of 85.
— Fernando Fernandez-Tapias was a model of loyalty, devotion and dedication for Real Madrid. His passing is a huge loss for Real Madrid and all fans. May he rest in peace,” Real Madrid said in a statement.
Fernandez-Tapias worked at the Madrid club for 30 years, and since 2009 he served as the club’s first vice-president.
Real Madrid won 58 trophies during the Spaniard’s tenure.
