“Spartak” can compete for the championship this RPL season, says ex-coach of the club Chernyshov

Former head coach of Spartak Andrei Chernyshov answered the question whether the Moscow club will be able to compete for the championship this season.

— “Spartak” has recently been in a fever again, the results are not what the club’s leaders and fans expected. Immediately, conflicts began within the team between the players and the coaching staff. A lot of pressure is put on Abascal, words about his rotation, that there is no stable composition. This is probably a valid criticism, but if a team plays successfully, then there is no point in rotation. Moreover, our clubs do not play in European cups, so there is not such a big burden on the players to make constant changes in the lineup.

In the last round, the team looked convincing; apparently, all non-football related issues were put on the backburner, and everyone decided that they needed to correct the situation and fight for the club. But the fact that there is instability is a fact. If Spartak had gone through the last few matches more smoothly, it would now be leading the standings together with Krasnodar.

If we talk about conflicts within the team, we don’t know exactly what’s going on. We hear everything from insiders and people who say they know what’s going on at the club. But this could all be a hoax to excite the public and attract the public attention of journalists to their person. Conflicts occur in every team, this is normal. People may sometimes be dissatisfied with each other, there may be a surge of emotions. The main thing is to leave all this within the team and stop it at the initial stage. Not a single conflict has a positive effect on the situation in the team. Conversations and dissatisfaction with each other begin.

Can Spartak compete for the championship this year? The group of RPL leaders has a high density in the standings. Any of these teams can claim to win the championship. It all depends on who gets through the stretch before the end of the season. Now Krasnodar has lost points with Baltika; before that, Zenit lost several games. Lokomotiv was getting into shape, and then also stumbled. “Everything changes quickly in football, so Spartak is among those teams that can compete for the championship this season,” Chernyshov told Metaratings.ru.
