David Beckham retired from his professional career ten years ago, but is still considered one of the most recognizable football players in the world. Thanks to his marriage to former Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham and active immersion in show business, the Englishman does not leave the news headlines. And the Beckham family is perceived by many as an example of an ideal marriage.
However, the details of David and Victoria’s relationship remained hidden from the public for a long time. It turns out that because of the football player’s relationship with his assistant, the Beckham family was on the verge of divorce.
Spent time with my assistant
After playing in the Premier League for more than ten years, Beckham decided to change the gray English landscapes to the sunny Mediterranean: in 2003, one of the best midfielders in the world moved to Real Madrid. His wife Victoria did not move with her beloved to the capital of Spain, but often visited Bex in the new country and supported him during important matches. The charming brunette actively developed her singing career and raised two sons, Brooklyn and Romeo. The youngest was not even a year old at the time of David’s transfer.
In Madrid, an assistant was assigned to Beckham so that the adaptation to the Spanish flavor would be as smooth as possible. The footballer’s assistant was 26-year-old Rebecca Luz, a long-legged beauty with the standard body parameters of 90-60-90. The Real Madrid midfielder, having spent several months away from his wife, could not resist the temptation to get to know Rebecca better. Romantic evenings, a lot of compliments and messages of an intimate nature led to the fact that the young people spent several nights in one of the hotels in Madrid.
Victoria soon learned about the affair of the British playboy. At first, David denied everything, but when the tabloids found out about his relationship with his assistant, there was no point in denying it. Bex plucked up courage and confessed to his wife about his numerous infidelities. The singer threw a tantrum and was even going to file for divorce, but after weighing all the pros and cons, she found the strength to forgive her husband and save the family for the sake of the children.

Her husband’s affairs on the side remain a painful topic for Victoria to this day. In a recently released documentary about David’s life and football career, his wife for the first time shared details of the long crisis in the relationship and that ill-fated betrayal.
“In my entire life, this was the most unhappy state I have been in.” It was a difficult period: it seemed that the world was against us. That’s the thing – we were against each other, to be completely honest,” the star recalls.

After 20 years, Beckham finally realized what a fatal mistake he had made. The owner of Inter Miami still feels guilty before his beautiful wife and cannot even imagine how difficult it was for the mother of his children to save the family.
“Honestly, I don’t know how we got through this.” Victoria is everything to me. Seeing her in such pain was incredibly difficult. But we are fighters. And at that time we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for,” David said in the Beckham documentary.
Children helped me cope with relationship problems. In 2005, the couple went on a romantic trip to Morocco, and after some time they learned about Victoria’s third pregnancy. Inspired by the good news, Beckham organized a second wedding in secret from his wife. The stars again declared their love for each other and exchanged vows of allegiance. And as a sign of endless love and devotion to each other, the couple got paired tattoos with the date of their second wedding and the phrase-mantra “De Integro,” which translated from Latin means “from scratch.”
