“This work provides additional motivation for referees” – Dyukov on inviting judges from Saudi Arabia to the RPL
The head of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Alexander Dyukov, explained the idea of inviting referees from Saudi Arabia and Belarus to RPL matches.
On October 24, on the “Rules of the Game” program on the MATCH PRIME channel, the chairman of the RFU refereeing committee, Pavel Kamantsev, announced the signing of an agreement on cooperation in the field of refereeing with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. On Thursday, Kamantsev reported that the RFU had signed an agreement with Belarus; judges from this country could begin working in the RPL in the near future.
— Why will RPL matches be officiated by referees from Saudi Arabia and Belarus?
– You know the reasoning and motivation. You know that previously our referees had the opportunity to work at international matches, but now these opportunities are limited. We see that our referees are currently less involved in working at international matches, and our referees need this experience for their development.
This work provides additional motivation for arbitrators. If our judges work abroad, it is fair to give the same practice to those judges who work in other championships. Particularly from Saudi Arabia. If our referees get the opportunity to officiate matches involving Ronaldo and Benzema, that’s not a bad thing.
— Could there be problems with communication?
— Football stars perform in Saudi Arabia, and they somehow communicate. Our players also have experience participating in international matches, I don’t see any problems,” a Match TV correspondent reports Dyukov’s words.
