Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi was not included in the final three nominees for the MLS Most Valuable Player award, the league’s official website reported.
Messi moved to Inter Miami in the summer of 2023. Together with the Argentine as part of Inter, Miami has already won its first trophy in history – the League Cup. At the same time, together with Messi, Inter Miami could not reach the playoffs of the MLS championship.
Three players are vying for the Most Valuable Player award: Luciano Acosta (Cincinnati), Thiago Almada (Atlanta United) and Denis Bouanga (Los Angeles). Messi still has a chance to win the MLS Best Newcomer award.
