“In place of Krasnodar there will be another team, you will make champions out of them” – Sergeev

Zenit striker Ivan Sergeev spoke about the fight for the championship this season WORLD RPL.

First place in the RPL table is occupied by Krasnodar, which scored 28 points in 12 rounds. Zenit is second with 23 points.

— Let’s talk a little about the current Zenit. In 11 RPL matches, the team lost three times – more than in the entire last season. What’s happening?

“You’re all asking the same question: “What’s wrong?” Everything is fine. This is football, this is life. There is still more than half of the championship ahead, everything can still be changed. There is no panic within the team. So don’t be dramatic.

— Well, it’s just unusual to see Zenit third.

– What should I do about it? (Laughs.) We don’t have any self-confidence – we work the same way we worked before. I repeat, there are still many matches ahead. Any of the top eight teams can compete for the championship. Not only Krasnodar, which comes first. Tomorrow another team will take Krasnodar’s place, and you will make champions out of them. But that’s not how it works,” Sport24 quotes Sergeev as saying.
