On Wednesday, October 26, RFU Secretary General Maxim Mitrofanov told Match TV that Russia is ready to submit an application to host the European Football Championship at any time.
– We can hold any competition, even tomorrow. The question is who will come to us for them. We so want to show the world that we are open. Earlier, the executive committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) recognized the RFU’s application to host Euro 2028 or Euro 2032 as “inappropriate.”
Russian clubs and national teams have been suspended from competitions under the auspices of UEFA since the spring of 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.
