“CSKA played a good match with Krasnodar, we can fight for the highest places” – Aldonin

Former CSKA midfielder Evgeny Aldonin believes that the team’s performance in the match of the 13th round of the Russian championship with Krasnodar proved that the army team is capable of fighting for the highest places in the RPL this season.

On Sunday, the army team inflicted its first defeat on Krasnodar this RPL season. The meeting in Moscow ended with the score 1:0.

— CSKA had a very good match with Krasnodar. There are no questions about the team’s performance. And the struggle, and the attitude, and the character – everything is there. So, with the most stable team in the league, CSKA proved its worth. With their play, the army team shows that they can fight for the highest places.

— There is an opinion that the army team was lucky in the match with Krasnodar. The opponent had many more chances.

– I do not think so. CSKA had more obvious moments. And I wouldn’t call hitting the post a 100% chance for Krasnodar.

— What is CSKA capable of in the current Russian championship?

“The most important thing here is not to let the leaders go too far.” The minimum task was accomplished – we beat Krasnodar. Now it will be impossible to lose points in matches with other teams. Everyone stumbles. It’s possible to fight for the highest places,” Aldonin said in an interview with Sport Day by Day.

After 13 rounds, Vladimir Fedotov’s team is in fifth place in the RPL standings, having scored 21 points, with Krasnodar in the lead (28).
