Former defender of the Russian national team Alexey Bugaev detained in Krasnodar with 0.5 kg of mephedrone. A criminal case was opened against the player for drug trafficking on a particularly large scale.

The former footballer, 42 years old, was stopped by the police for a personal search and a bag of unknown powder was found in the pocket of his sweatshirt, which later turned out to be drugs. The athlete was arrested for 7 days and faces up to 20 years in prison.

Bugaev played for Torpedo, Tom, Lokomotiv, Khimki and Krasnodar. He ended his professional career in 2010 at the age of 29.
