Former defender of the youth national teams of Italy and Russia Andrea Pelamatti explained why, after nine years in the Inter system, he moved to the Serie C club Torres.
This season, 19-year-old Pelamatti played five matches, but was not effective.
— Experience is very important for young players. You need to try your hand where you have more opportunities to play. The youth team is just a graduation diploma, and then adult life begins. In Italy, it’s normal to move to the third division to “get your knuckles in” and learn more about yourself, to test your worth. I had other options, but the Torres project seemed very attractive to me. And I was not mistaken,” Pelamatti is quoted as saying by “Championship.”
In October 2021, the defender played two matches for the Russian U18 national team. Prior to this, Pelamatti played for the Italian youth teams.
