The best sniper and pass king are foreigners.
Could the team of the best players of the first half of the season consist of one Russian goalkeeper and ten foreigners? Easily. Foreigners come into play RPL on the quality of football. That doesn’t mean the Russians aren’t successful, but at a distance the foreigners are more solid. Among the locals we can highlight Safonov from Krasnodar and Chalov from CSKA, but at the same time they are unlikely to get into the top 10. This is the reality of the season, which means it’s time to talk about the exploits of foreigners. Sobolev, Kabutov, Tyukavin and Oblyakov have vivid episodes RPL. But the local players are no more consistent than the guys on the list below.
Mateo Cassierra (Zenit, Colombia)
Ten goals make Cassierra the main contender for the best sniper of the season award. The second is Chalov, who won the game with 15 goals in an entire season. Now Fedor does CSKA seven accurate shots, but doesn’t always play at the forefront. And players of the level of the Brazilians Zenit don’t pass him. Cassierra has started playing, despite having been searching for a replacement all summer, and is helping the champions set club records.
Benjamin Garre (Wings of the Soviets, Argentina)
Five goals and two assists do not reflect the greatness of the Argentine in Krylia Sovetov. And even the high position of the Samara club in the ranking does not reflect. But just look at the technical attacking midfielder’s playing style to understand that the 23-year-old midfielder has great potential. And he is unlikely to stay RPL, accepting a lot of money in Moscow. Garra would be better off looking for a top 5 club.
Quincy Promes (Spartak, Netherlands)
The Promes will not leave for another championship and everyone knows why. But without a successful Quincy there will be no successful Spartak. The season is going much worse than Abascal predicted. But Guillermo could be sacked, and Promes could be useful to the next coach. Expert winger, perhaps the highest quality player RPL after Malcolm’s departure, although Quincy is not as stable as before.
Douglas Santos (Zenit, Brazil)
The player’s agent flirts: he hinted that for now Douglas wants to play for Zenit, but anything happens in life. It’s clear that Santos is fed up RPL, like all the strong Latin Americans on the team. But even if this will be the last season for the 29-year-old Brazilian, he will spend it at a high level. There have been some unsuccessful matches, but in terms of versatility and class, few are on the same level as Douglas. RPL can compete.
Eduard Spertsyan (Krasnodar, Armenia)
He could have left, but he was a patriot of his native Krasnodar. And he is not a patriot of the Karpin team, he chose the Armenian team. They were waiting for Spertsyan at Ajax: he was lucky not to end up on a sinking ship. Eduard is good, but he needs to work on his pace. He so far is more often the hero of the episodes than controlling the game throughout the match, like Noboa in Sochi during the silver medal era. Christian has slowed down this season, amid disappointments, but Spertsyan is in first place RPL.
Claudinho (Zenit, Brazil)
Zenit did a lot to prevent Claudinho from ending up at Flamengo. I retained a footballer who can be called a leader. Claudinho isn’t always as good, but his deep position helps Semak get out of the crisis. The attacking midfielder scored and made intelligent passes, one of the most creative players around RPL. It is strange that Claudinho did not get into the top 5. Apparently, there are reasons: the price, behavior and physical indicators.
Giovanni Cordoba (Krasnodar, Colombia)
I relaxed early. For Cordoba it’s time to get back on track, for Krasnodar a difficult period is approaching and the center forward has allowed himself to make mistakes or work little. Ivic has hinted that the menacing-looking Colombian is a very vulnerable person, but this season it’s time for John to show his strength of character. Without Cordoba’s decisive goals, Krasnodar would not be champions.
Bitelo (Dinamo, Brazil)
Dinamo is in a strange position. Four goals were enough for the middle peasants to move up from fourth to first place. But the potential is there, as demonstrated by the most expensive newcomer of the summer RPL. Participation in five unsuccessful tours for Dynamo was enough to understand a lot about Bitelo’s class and playing style. The Brazilian dribbles boldly, knows how to create chances and knows how to get into an attacking position. He scored a goal and an assist which brought 4 points.
Matias Perez (Orenburg, Argentina)
Tough, with leadership qualities and scoring instinct. He scored four goals and made one assist, even though Orenburg is nowhere near as good as last season. But thanks to players like Perez there is still a chance to escape relegation. Mathias is short, which worsens the chances of finding a strong team in the top 5, but thanks to his positional choice and jumping ability, he occupies a place in the center of defense. A strong-willed footballer, even if with errors in defense.
Wendel (Zenit, Brazil)
Zenit has absolute stars of the team and RPL, which have slowed down compared to last season. Not only Douglas and Barrios, but also Wendel. But even when the Brazilian refused to come to training camp, he remained a formidable weapon. The midfielder, like Claudinho, intended to move to Flamengo. The agents don’t work well, they haven’t found cool places for cool Brazilians Champions League. And Wendel deserves attention, a subtle and versatile player, although not the most hardworking.
Junior Alonso (Krasnodar, Paraguay)
The Russian championship is ruthless with defenders, everyone makes a lot of mistakes. Junior Alonso also made mistakes; one of these errors cost Krasnodar their unbeaten streak RPL, Chalov missed the Paraguayan. But much more often Alonso played well, although after the injury Caio played with newcomer Tormena. Junior is calmer than many decent centre-backs RPLand this too is a winning card.
Diego Laxalt (Dinamo, Uruguay)
Charm of the season, at the age of thirty he suddenly changed his position on the pitch. Licka invented the role of holding midfielder and deep-lying coach for the Uruguayan. Although the task is difficult: there is more freedom and less work on the hip, Diego succeeded. One of the best players of Dynamo and of the whole RPL. If Bitelo only hinted at his level, then Laxalt, despite the injury and missing several rounds, earned the right to be part of this company, as well as the team for the new tour RPL.
