“In Russia there are few good defenders, but there are many strong goalkeepers” – Camozzi
Franco Camozzi, ex-adviser to former Spartak owner Leonid Fedun, expressed the opinion that Russian defenders have little chance of playing in Europe.
— Which Russian defenders can play in Europe? Central defender is the most scarce position in Russian football. In almost all clubs, foreign players play these positions, because there are few good defenders in Russia. This is, one might say, a trend.
