Russian coach Rinat Bilyaletdinov believes that Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin should not move to Paris Saint-Germain due to the high level of competition in the Parisian team.
Golovin was recognized as Monaco’s best footballer in October; the Russian had previously achieved such recognition in September. Golovin played 9 matches in the current season of the French Championship, in which he scored 4 goals.
— Has Golovin outgrown the Monaco level?
— This team has a good overall level of players. Golovin will not suit PSG. There is high competition there. It’s up to him to decide if he wants to be a bench player.
— Maybe then Alexander should change the championship?
— If we take Italy, then there are Napoli, Milan, Inter, Roma. But what then is considered a promotion for Alexander? In France, PSG stands apart. There are more teams in Italy, but it will be difficult to take a step forward. You need to look at the style of the teams. Golovin will not feel so comfortable in Germany and England. Motor skills and athleticism are valued there,” RB Sport quotes Bilyaletdinov as saying.
After 10 rounds, Monaco is in third place in the Ligue 1 standings, with 20 points and two points behind the leading Nice.
