The match between the Arsenal youth team (U18) and their peers from Brighton in the English championship was postponed due to the fact that the London club’s bus mistakenly went to Bournemouth, reports Daily Star.
The match was due to kick off at Brighton on Saturday at 12:00 local time, but kick-off was delayed by half an hour after the Gunners failed to turn up on time. It later turned out that they went to Bournemouth by mistake – a distance of 155 km from Brighton. The game was postponed.
According to The Sun, the reason for the disruption of the match was not that Arsenal mixed up their opponents. It is noted that the bus driver and his team simply took a wrong turn at one of the forks.
The Arsenal U18 team is coached by ex-Gunners player Jack Wilshere.
