Fakel head coach Sergei Tashuev joked about goals at the end of matches that bring results to the team.
On Saturday, the Voronezh team played a draw at home with CSKA in the 15th round of the RPL – 1:1. Home team defender Sergei Bozhin scored in the 90+3rd minute. Previously, in matches with Orenburg (2:1) and Akhmat (2:1), Fakel snatched victories after the 90th minute.
— I’m more pleased with the second half. We played incorrectly for 15 minutes in the first half. We told the guys that CSKA is dangerous in the first 15-20 minutes. Fresh, good speed, performers, exhausting with the fight. Unfortunately, we lost the duels and conceded a goal.
Then there were moments when Markov could have scored with his head. During the break we made adjustments, talked with the guys, in the second half we had a big advantage and practically didn’t let the opponent out of our half of the field. There were moments, pressure, the field was difficult. Maksimov came out on time, Appaev was moved to the left, this idea worked, Appaev gave the goal. Thriller – goal 30 seconds before the end, it was fun.
— In matches with Akhmat, CSKA and Orenburg, the team achieves results at the end of the game. What’s the secret?
– Especially so that everyone has fun. Kidding. There are no secrets. It’s a shame they scored late. The guys’ mentality is changing for the better, they are trying to fight until the last second until victory. It’s more about psychology, but physically the team is well prepared,” Tashuev said on Match TV.
CSKA head coach Vladimir Fedotov said that the team was unable to maintain concentration at the end of the game.
— We lost concentration, lost a player in the penalty area. We missed a goal. They let us deliver (the ball), everything was simple, we had to finish the game with the football player.
— CSKA again misses the winning score in the end. Do you see a trend in this?
— It is clear that the reason lies somewhere. Probably, the problem was that the bench was not long enough; it was necessary, perhaps, to strengthen the middle line, to cling more to the ball, to control it. Be more confident in launching attacks and bringing them to the final stage.
— In the second half, CSKA was worse at attacking than in the first. Is it true that they played strictly according to the score?
“Yes, we played according to the score, there was not enough combination play to force the opponent to move without the ball, to achieve the logical conclusion of the combinations in the second half,” Fedotov noted.
CSKA (25 points) is fourth in the standings, Fakel (19 points) is 10th.
