International Football Federation Council (IFAB) is considering introducing 10-minute penalties in professional leagues for players who disagree with the referee’s decisions, as well as only allowing the team captain to approach the referee.
The practice of temporary knockouts began to be used in England at youth and grassroots level in 2019.
It should be noted that so far there is no mention of such punishment for other violations.
This season, in the top four divisions of the English Championship, players can be booked if two or more players surround the referees.
