“It will be difficult for Spartak to win the championship, but we must try” – Parfenov
Former Spartak footballer Dmitry Parfenov believes that it will be difficult for the “red-whites” to fight for the championship in the current season of the WORLD Russian Premier League (RPL).
On Sunday, Spartak defeated Rostov with a score of 2:1 in the home match of the 15th round of the RPL. The Red and Whites scored 24 points and are in 6th place in the standings, while the leading Krasnodar has 32 points.
– Of course, the result was unsuccessful for Spartak. The team should fight for medals, I would like to win gold. Sixth place most likely does not suit the coach and management. We were brought up in such a way that Spartak should always fight for medals.
— Do Spartak have a chance to become a champion this season?
— Now there is a big gap from first place, and competitors will not lose every match. It will be difficult for the Red and Whites to win the championship, but we must try. The whole circle is still ahead. You have to get into the top three, plus there is an opportunity to win the Cup,” RB Sport quotes Parfenov as saying.
