The Hungarian national football team drew with the Bulgarian team in the qualifying match for the 2024 European Championship and reached the final stage of the tournament.
The meeting in Sofia ended with a score of 2:2. The hosts scored goals from Spas Delev and Kiril Despodov. Martin Adam scored for the Hungarians, and Bulgarian national team midfielder Alex Petkov scored an own goal in the 90th + 6th minute. In the 37th minute, defender of the Bulgarian team Valentin Antov was sent off from the field for two yellow cards; the Hungarians were left with ten men in the 58th minute after defender Milos Kerkesh was sent off.

The Hungarian team leads the Group G table with 15 points; the team has guaranteed itself at least second place and a ticket to EURO 2024. The Bulgarians (3 points) are in last place, the Serbs are second (13 points). On November 19, the Hungarian team will play against Montenegro, Bulgaria – against the Serbs.
Previously, the teams of Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, Turkey, Austria and England qualified for the European Championship. The German national team will play at the European Championships without qualification as the host of the tournament.
