Pimenov named the condition under which Pinyaev will become a star on a European scale

Former Russian national team footballer Ruslan Pimenov believes that Lokomotiv player Sergei Pinyaev must be more actively involved in the team’s defensive actions.

Pinyaev moved to Lokomotiv from Krylia Sovetov Samara at the end of last year. This season, the 19-year-old footballer played 21 matches in all competitions, scored one goal and made three assists.

“Those guys who are determined to professionally build their own careers will definitely follow his example. It’s one thing to be the media Dzyuba, who has been through thick and thin, and another thing to be a talented guy who has everything ahead of him. It seemed that recently the man showed promise, but at 19 he is already defending the colors of the national team. Pinyaev performed well, although many believe that this season is turning out to be a failure for him.

But the matter is a little different: Nair Tiknizyan, who unexpectedly opened up in the position of left winger, hindered his partner’s progress. Sergei had to be moved to the right flank. But he must go through this school of life. I believe Pinyaev has a good future. He may be short, but he is explosive and technical. It remains to add in the rough work, but the midfielder is obliged to help in defense. Then Sergei will turn into a star on a European scale,” Pimenov told RT.

Lokomotiv is in seventh place in the Russian Football Championship standings, with 24 points from 15 matches.
