Former Dutch national football player Marc Overmars has been suspended from football activities for sending photos of his genitals to female colleagues, reports NOS, citing a decision by the Institute of Sports Justice.

In 2022, Overmars left his post as sporting director of Ajax. Overmars sent obscene photographs to female employees and female players of the Amsterdam club. In March last year, the ex-player took the position of sporting director at Antwerp.

According to the publication, Overmars was disqualified for two years, one of which is suspended. The suspension applies exclusively to structures associated with the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB), so the functionary can continue to work at Antwerp.

As a player, Overmars won bronze medals at the European Championships twice with the Dutch national team (2000, 2004).
