FIFA could compensate Barcelona for the Spanish midfielder’s injury Gavi.
The player suffered a knee injury in the match against Georgia as part of the Euro 2024 qualifier (3:1). The first medical examination revealed that the player had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.
Compensation from FIFA under the club’s protection programme, it will start to accrue on the 28th day after the player’s injury and will depend on his fixed salary.
In the case of the Catalans, the amount of payments will be calculated starting from December 16th. The maximum compensation per injured player is 7.5 million euros per year.
Gavi risks missing between 6 and 8 months and the Blaugrana will receive between 3,082,200 and 4,315,080 euros.
