Barcelona confirmed a complete rupture of the cruciate ligament in Gavi’s knee

Barcelona spoke about the injuries to the midfielder of the Gavi team, received at the location of the Spanish national football team.

The Spanish midfielder was injured in the match of the final round of Euro 2024 qualification with the Georgian team (3:1). In the 20th minute, Gavi collided with visiting defender Luka Lochoshvili, after which he required medical attention. The 19-year-old football player was able to return to the game, but soon began to hold his knee and asked for a replacement. The Spaniard left the field in tears.

Gavi was diagnosed with a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee and associated damage to the lateral meniscus. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days, after which the club will publish new information about his health.

Thus, Gavi risks missing the European Championship, where the Spanish national team previously qualified. The tournament will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024.

This season, the footballer took part in 15 matches for Barcelona in all competitions, scored 2 goals and made one assist.
