“Ryabchuk must be given time to fully develop in Spartak” – ex-player of the Moldavian national team Cozhocar
Former Moldavian national team player Andrei Cozhocar believes that Spartak defender Oleg Ryabchuk needs more time to adapt to the Moscow club.
Ryabchuk moved from Olympiacos to Spartak in the summer transfer window. Since 2018, the player has been called up to the Moldavian national team, for which he played 44 matches.
— Have you seen Ryabchuk’s matches for Spartak Moscow? Are there any differences in his performance for the club and the national team? Does Ryabchuk have the same roles on the field or does he perform different tasks in the national team and club?
— Yes, I watched Spartak games. I don’t know what head coach Abascal demands from Ryabchuk. Oleg works well in his position, he always has crazy dedication and a desire to win. Maybe his teammates don’t use him very often, as, for example, in the Moldavian national team, where almost all attacks come through the left flank.
— In Russia, one of the reproaches against Ryabchuk is related to his weak attacking game. How are things going with his offensive game in the Moldavian national team?
— I remember when Oleg joined us in the national team. At first he was worried, but as soon as he adapted, he immediately showed his high level. I know and have seen his potential, which he confirms every day.
I think he needs to be given time to fully open up. He looks good in the national team in the attacking line: he serves a lot, crosses, and plays with speed. I think that Oleg, in principle, has already adapted to Spartak, and should open up,” Kozhokar is quoted as saying by Metaratings.ru.
