Zenit defender Danil Krugovoy said that at the beginning of his professional career he did not set himself the goal of playing 100 matches for the St. Petersburg team.

Krugovoy is a graduate of the Blue-White-Blue Academy. The 25-year-old footballer played his 100th match for Zenit on November 4, when he took the field in the Russian Championship match with Baltika Kaliningrad. Krugovoy is the 136th player in the history of the club to reach the mark of 100 matches for the St. Petersburg team.

“It means a lot to me.” And if we take the students, what kind of place will I have? In the top 50? Great! Initially I did not set such goals for myself. It was important to fulfill the dream of my father, who wanted me to play for the Zenit main team. After all, I went through the entire structure – from the academy to Zenit-2, then I had to go on loan. I think it was the right choice. Then he came back, fulfilled his dream, and now there are already 100 matches, an excellent number. Years go by, but statistics remember everything,” the Championship quotes Krugovoi.
