Former Dynamo Moscow and Arsenal Tula striker Evgeniy Lutsenko said that he could retire in the winter transfer window if he does not go to a training camp with any club.
The 36-year-old forward’s last club was Arsenal, which he left in the off-season.
— What is the current status of your career?
– I’m a free agent. I train individually and keep in shape. I won’t go to the training camp with anyone in January-February – I’ll finish with football.
– Why exactly this period?
“Two months is enough for me to get myself in order after six months without a team.” But I can’t be without the club anymore – then I simply won’t come back, I won’t physically take you out. If an offer does not appear in the winter, it will be possible to officially say that I have hung up my boots. While I still want to play, I hope they’ll call me,” Sport24 quotes Lutsenko as saying.
Previously, Lutsenko defended the colors of Moscow Torpedo, Rostov, Belgorod Salyut, SKA-Energia (now SKA-Khabarovsk), Saransk Mordovia.
