Krylia Sovetov head coach Igor Osinkin supported the decision of ex-CSKA and Russian national football player Alan Dzagoev, who completed his professional career.
On Tuesday, Dzagoev announced his retirement at the age of 33. From 2006 to 2007, the football player played under the leadership of Osinkin in the Krylya Sovetov-SOK club, but spent most of his career in CSKA (2008–2022). His last club was the Greek Lamia.
— Alan loved football very much. I understand that he only finished because injuries prevented him from playing fully. Alan just doesn’t want to get treatment. He always loved to play and be useful. Now I myself felt that, apparently, his time had passed. Alan had a great career. He started playing serious football very early. At some point it had to end. It is clear that someone can still play at this time. Alan played a large number of matches at the highest level with great intensity. Every organism has its own resource,” Championship quotes Osinkin.
As part of CSKA, the midfielder became a three-time Russian champion, winning the country’s Cup and Super Cup four times each. The footballer played 59 matches for the Russian national team and scored nine goals.
