Former defender of the Russian national team Vladimir Granat called Alan Dzagoev one of the most extraordinary Russian football players, and also positively assessed his human qualities.
On Tuesday, former CSKA Moscow and national team player Dzagoev announced his retirement at the age of 33.
— Dzagoev is one of the most extraordinary football players I have played with over the past 10–15 years. Alan had a very bright start to his career. It is worth noting not only his football qualities, but also his human qualities. Dzagoev is a very well-mannered and modest person, this immediately catches your eye, and he is also friendly.
Alan is also quick-tempered, but this is typical for Ossetians. As for everyday life, he didn’t use his temper at all, and for a football player this is a very good quality. Dzagoev is unyielding and does not know how to lose,” Metaratings.ru quotes Dzagoev.
Dzagoev also played for Krylia Sovetov-SOK, Kazan Rubin and Greek Lamia. As part of the army club, the midfielder became a three-time Russian champion, winning the country’s Cup and Super Cup four times each. The footballer played 59 matches for the Russian national team and scored nine goals.
