Former Russian national team player Alexander Mostovoy spoke about the performance of striker Sergei Pinyaev in the match for the national team against Cuba, saying that the current season is not going well for the 19-year-old player.

On Monday, the Russian team defeated the Cuban team in a friendly match in Volgograd with a score of 8:0. In the 85th minute, Pinyaev failed to convert the penalty.

— There is nothing wrong with the fact that Pinyaev missed a penalty in the match with Cuba. All players missed from the penalty spot at least once. Even the greatest ones anointed. Although, of course, this goal would have helped Sergei gain self-confidence. So far this season is not going well for Pinyaev, he is stalling. Maybe somewhere he couldn’t withstand the pressure and sagged psychologically, after all, he’s a young guy. I hope he will get in shape and start scoring,” Mostovoy told RB Sport.

This season, Pinyaev played 15 matches for Lokomotiv in the MIR RPL, scored one goal and provided three assists.
