Former Lokomotiv and CSKA goalkeeper Ruslan Nigmatullin noted the high level of play of the Russian national team in a friendly match with the Cuban team, and also emphasized that games even with such opponents are necessary in the current conditions.
On Monday, the Russian team defeated the Cuban team with a score of 8:0.
— The result wasn’t particularly surprising, to be honest. The level of the Cuban national team is approximately the same as that of the Kenyans. It’s just that on Monday we played at full strength and with crazy desire. The team showed a truly high level of football! You can definitely be satisfied with the game. It turned out to be a great show for the public in Volgograd.
This city is crazy about football. Such matches are simply necessary for our team. This meeting benefited our team. Of course, it’s more like a show. But we simply don’t have any other options for sparring. Those people who say that such games are not needed do not understand football at all. These are difficult times for sports. It’s better to smash the Cuban team than to leave our team idle,” Nigmatullin told the Championship.
