Former Lokomotiv and Spartak midfielder Alexander Samedov expressed the opinion that three-time Russian champion with CSKA Alan Dzagoev had an outstanding career.
On Tuesday, the Greek Lamia announced the termination of the contract with Dzagoev, who decided to retire.
— An outstanding career. Unfortunately, Alan’s injuries prevented him from using his enormous potential, but Dzagoev still had a great career. He is a great master! Alan was always an open and kind guy, he treated everyone kindly. There was never any negativity in him. We were together at two world championships, I can only say good things about him.
This is a loss for Russian football. It’s a shame that he hasn’t been in the RPL for a long time. Injuries prevented spectators from enjoying his skill. He could have achieved more in his career,” Metaratings.ru quotes Samedov as saying.
Dzagoev, as part of CSKA, became a three-time Russian champion, winning the country’s Cup and Super Cup four times each. The footballer played 59 matches for the Russian national team and scored nine goals.
