Former head coach of Krasnodar Igor Shalimov explained why Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin is the leader of the Russian national football team.
The Russian national team on Monday at the Volgograd Arena defeated the Cuban team with a score of 8:0 in a friendly match. Golovin scored a goal and an assist in this meeting.
— There is a lot of talk about Golovin being a leader, because he left and is progressing. And in my opinion, the difference between Alexander and others is that he is more talented and develops this talent in himself, there is hard work and responsibility. And he realizes his talent, which characterizes him positively. That is, he is developing and progressing not because he left, but because he treats his talent and football in general correctly,” RB Sport quotes Shalimov.
27-year-old Golovin has been playing for Monaco since July 2018. This season he played 11 matches for the French club in Ligue 1, scored five goals and made two assists.
