Former Russian national team player Ruslan Pimenov shared his opinion about the performance of the Kazakhstan national team in the qualifying tournament for the 2024 European Championship.

The Kazakhstan national team previously lost away to the Slovenian team in the final round match of the qualifying tournament for the 2024 European Championship with a score of 1:2. Thus, Denmark and Slovenia (22 points each) made it to the final part of Euro 2024, which took the first two places in Group H. Finland and Kazakhstan were next (18 points each), Northern Ireland finished in fifth place with 9 points, sixth — San Marino (0).

— In my opinion, the secret of such a good performance of the Kazakhstan national team in qualifying for the Euro can be explained by several factors, the first of which is the figure of the team’s head coach Magomed Adiev and his specialists from the staff. High-quality work was carried out with the players, they began to act more strictly in all lines. In addition, a good generation of players has appeared, such as Nuraly Alip, Baktiyor Zainutdinov, Ramazan Orazov and Maxim Samorodov,” Pimenov told RT.

The Kazakhstan national team is still fighting for a ticket to the continental tournament based on its performances in the 2022/23 Nations League. As a result of the draw in the playoffs of the qualifying stage for the European Championship, the Kazakhstan team will play with the Greek team.

Adiev has led the Kazakhstan national team since May 2022.
