Orenburg sports director Dmitry Andreev commented on the club’s interest in Chilean Colo-Colo striker Jordi Thompson.

The media reported that the Russian club was renting a 19-year-old football player with the right of subsequent purchase.

— Will Orenburg really sign Thompson? It’s hard to say yet. Arrest story? Are you asking me? How can I know who it is and what happened? There was no interest in this player,” Championship quoted Andreev as saying.

In early November, Chilean law enforcement officers detained Thompson after receiving a complaint of domestic violence, as reported by La Cuarta. This was the second time the midfielder was detained; in October, a video appeared on social networks in which he hit his girlfriend with his fist.

This season of the Chilean championship, Thompson played 15 matches, scored three goals and made two assists.
