Midfielder of the Ivanovo Tekstilshchik Alexey Evseev said that several years ago he could have moved to the Dutch Vitesse.
Evseev began his career at Zenit St. Petersburg, which he left in 2017. Subsequently, the 29-year-old football player played for Ural, Khimki, Rotor, Fakel, and Ufa.
— You only left Zenit at the age of 23, and as a free agent. Why didn’t you rent earlier? Did you still hope to play at Zenit?
– Maybe yes. Looking back, I understand that when I was 20 years old I should have gone to rent somewhere. And so, I sat and waited for a chance. As a result, he left only at the age of 23. Or he could have left earlier for both the Premier League club and the Dutch Vitesse.
— At first, you were offered to play for the second team. Didn’t you regret later that you didn’t agree to Vitesse’s offer?
— To be honest, it’s not clear how everything would have turned out. They told me: “You train with the main team, you play for the second.” Maybe in two matches I would have made my debut for the main team, or maybe in a year I wouldn’t have played a single match. Nobody will know this anymore,” Evseev told RB Sport.
This season, Evseev played 16 matches in the Second League and the Russian Cup, scored six goals and made two assists.
