Brighton reached the Europa League playoffs, beating Greek AEK away

English Brighton beat Greek AEK in the away match of the fifth round of the Europa League group stage.

The Group B meeting in Athens ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of Brighton. The only goal was scored from the penalty spot in the 55th minute by forward Joao Pedro.

From the 65th minute, the hosts played in the minority after Mijat Gacinovic received a second yellow card.

Brighton scored 10 points, leads the Group B table and guaranteed itself access to the Europa League playoffs; AEK is third in the quartet with 4 points.

In the final match of the group stage on December 14, Brighton will host French Marseille, and AEK will meet Ajax in the Netherlands on the same day.
