Miranchuk’s Atalanta guaranteed itself first place in the Europa League group by drawing with Sporting

The Italian Atalanta played a draw with the Portuguese Sporting in the match of the fifth round of the group stage of the Europa League.
The Group D meeting in Bergamo ended with a score of 1:1. Gianluca Scamacca scored for the hosts, and Marcus Edwards scored for the visitors.
Russian Bergamasco midfielder Alexey Miranchuk appeared on the field in the 69th minute and did not make any impact.
Atalanta (11 points) had already solved the problem of reaching the playoffs. After the draw, Gian Piero Gasperini’s team guaranteed itself first place in Group D and participation in the 1/8 finals of the tournament. Sporting scored 8 points, is in second place and advanced to the Europa League playoffs ahead of schedule.
In another Group D match, the Austrian Sturm lost at home to the Polish Rakow – 0:1.
In the last round on December 14, Sporting will host Sturm, Atalanta will play away against Rakow.
