PARIS NN defender Dmitry Tikhy recalled the conflict with head coach Spartak Gogniev when he played for Khimki.

— Everything started out fine. But very soon it became clear that what he wanted from us was impossible to realize. Funny standards, a racing goalkeeper, a supposedly super-attacking game… All this is interesting, perhaps, in general, the football of the future. But at that moment it was impossible to bring all this to life. You always need to start from reality, especially when the team is in the bottom of the table and really needs points. The improvisation that Gogniev wanted from us was suicide for the club. He had a strange approach to everything, and the results speak for themselves.

Don’t get me wrong – I’ve been working towards the Premier League for half my life and I clearly understand: what works in the First League will not always work in the RPL. Here you are immediately punished for the slightest mistake. Apparently, Gogniev was not ready for the Premier League. Building a new philosophy in the middle of the season and recruiting a new team in the winter window is essentially like death. Any sane person understood: this would end in relegation. But the Khimki management apparently thought differently. In fact, they themselves sent the team to the First League.

— How, by the way, did you get suspended?

— The team went away, I missed the game due to disqualification. After returning, there was a theoretical lesson at which Gogniev announced: Idovu, Kamyshev and I were suspended from training with the team. Moreover, the guys, as I understand it, simply got into trouble: one allegedly trained poorly, and the other did not say hello well.

– What was the explanation for you?

— Gogniev asked me: “I hear rumors that you don’t believe in our idea. This is true?” Well, I said straight out: “If we continue like this, the First League awaits us, this kind of football does not suit us. What you want is suicide.” I told the truth as I see it. That’s why I was suspended. They removed me in October – shortly before my birthday. The funny thing is that for the first time in my life my club didn’t even congratulate me.

— Some time after the suspension, an audio recording appeared on the Internet in which Gogniev, with obscene screams, attacks you and Ayaz Guliyev. What was that?

— Ayaz was already suspended then. We had a clear training schedule in the gym. That day our lesson coincided with the team’s training. Gogniev considered this a provocation on our part – supposedly we came specifically to annoy him and the guys. In general, all this is funny.

— Gogniev said that he suspects you of leaking audio.

– Nonsense. How could we start recording while being in the same room with him? Of course, this recording was made from the hallway. Moreover, you can hear Gogniev opening and closing the door there. And then let him figure it out himself,” Tikhy said in an interview with Sport24.
