UEFA has approved a system for distributing prize money for Euro 2024. The maximum a team can earn is 28.25 million euros
The Executive Committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has approved a system for distributing prize money for teams participating in the final tournament of the 2024 European Football Championship, the UEFA press service reports.
The tournament will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
The prize fund for Euro 2024 will be a total of 331 million euros, the same as at the previous European Championship. The distribution of funds will be made as follows:
— for participation — 9.25 million euros;
— match bonus: 1 million euros for a win and 500 thousand euros for a draw;
— reaching the 1/8 finals — 1.5 million euros;
— reaching the quarterfinals — 2.5 million euros;
— reaching the semifinals — 4 million euros;
– the team that takes second place will receive an additional payment of 5 million euros;
– The 2024 European champion will receive an additional payment of 8 million euros.
The maximum amount a champion team can receive if it wins all three matches in its group is €28.25 million.
