Valery Nepomnyashchy: “Tyukavin himself is not particularly eager to go somewhere. A long-term contract is a plus for Dynamo

The famous Russian football coach Valery Nepomnyashchy told how the extension of striker Konstantin Tyukavin’s contract with Dynamo will affect his play in the “blue and white”.

The footballer’s new agreement with the capital club runs until the summer of 2028.

– It was expected. Tyukavin himself is not particularly eager to go anywhere. A long-term contract is a plus for Dynamo. This is the right decision on both sides.

— The contract stipulates compensation only for European clubs. Is Tyukavin capable of playing in the top 5 leagues in Europe?

“It wouldn’t hurt for him to spend a year in our championship.” When young people leave for Europe, I have one condition – they must go to play, and not sit on the bench or go to other clubs on loan. If there is an opportunity to play, you need to sign a contract. If you don’t know what the future is like there, you need to stay in the RPL. I am sure that Tyukavin will play in Europe, he has potential. He has phenomenal decision-making in the box, even when under pressure. Konstantin is capable of playing at the highest level.

— Is Tyukavin the future captain of Dynamo?

– I didn’t think about it. He is a very nice and kind guy. Maybe he doesn’t have the quality to be above someone. It seems to me that for him the issue of captaincy is not entirely fundamental,” RB Sport quotes Nepomniachtchi as saying.

As part of Dynamo, Tyukavin became the bronze medalist of the RPL in the 2021/2022 season, as well as a finalist of the Russian Cup.
